If used incorrectly or without proper training, a forklift can be a dangerous piece of equipment. Serious injuries such as crushed/broken bones, amputations and death can occur. Following general forklift safety rules will help protect the operator and pedestrians from serious injury.
General Forklift Rules:
- Downhill – Travel In Reverse
- Operator Must Use Seatbelt
- Be Careful of Rear-end Swing
- No Passengers or Lifting People
- Keep It Slow and Under Control
- No Travel With Raised Loads
- Face Your Load Uphill
