Shop Hazards
Wet or Slippery Floors
Wet or slippery floors in a shop are a receipt for disaster in a shop. These conditions are often caused by spilled liquids, tracked in from outdoors, roof leaks and malfunctioning equipment.
To help protect yourself and others:
- Once a spill has been identified, it should be cleaned up as soon as possible.
- During inclement weather mats and wet floor signs should be placed at door entrances.
- Roof leaks should be repaired by qualified personnel as soon as possible.
- Malfunctioning equipment such as a forklift leaking oil should be tagged out of service and repaired as soon as possible.
