Forklift Safety

If used incorrectly or without proper training, a forklift can be a dangerous piece of equipment.  Serious injuries such as crushed/broken bones, amputations and death can occur.  Following general forklift safety rules will help protect the operator and pedestrians from serious injury.

General Forklift Rules:

  • Downhill – Travel In Reverse
  • Operator Must Use Seatbelt
  • Be Careful of Rear-end Swing
  • No Passengers or Lifting People
  • Keep It Slow and Under Control
  • No Travel With Raised Loads
  • Face Your Load Uphill
