Be Alert to Moving Equipment
Our construction site has many types of moving equipment that presents an exposure to workers from being struck by the equipment.
It is important to remember these tips:
- Never take for granted that equipment operator see you
- Don’t depend upon hearing a horn or other warning signals
- Avoid standing in blind spots of the equipment operator
- Be aware of swinging counterweights or extended outriggers
- Never hitch a ride on the running board of equipment
- Never walk alongside moving equipment
- Stay out from under loads on cranes and hoists
- Never clean, lubricate or work on machines in operation
